Petticrows Solings

Petticrows exhibit their new Soling at the Dusseldorf boat show.

With increasing pressure from Soling sailors for a new European builder, Petticrow, with their expertise in building racing keelboats, have stepped forward to offer their services.

Petticrows are primarily known for their success in building the International Dragon Class where they dominate the world circuit. The smaller sibling of the Soling, the Yngling has also been manufactured by Petticrows with their boats achieving gold and silver medal placings in the 2008 Olympics and world and European titles.

For the Soling project Petticrows have teamed up with the current world champion and long time Soling sailor Roman Koch. His skills compliment their technical construction expertise, he has offered invaluable advise on a new, simple, modern layout in the cockpit including a completely new mainsheet system.
The Petticrows mast is also an innovative modern design incorporating the “invigorator” ridges to aid air flow over the rig.
