French new Dragon owners are on form at La
Baule.
Light
to medium winds and very shifty conditions greeted over 50
Dragons in the Dragon Derby at La Baule. Many large wind shifts
made it difficult to get the tack ticks right all the time.
For Poul Richard the conditions meant that it was difficult
to draw meaningful conclusions from his first regatta with
the new i-mast section, however with a third place overall
his initial assessment is that the new mast is very good.
Christian Boillot (MON 11) had an exceptional day on Friday
reading the wind shifts well and sealing his position at the
front of the fleet. RUS 27 Anatoly Loginov finished second
overall sailing with the consistency we come to expect from
him.
The
triumph for Petticrows is having 3 brand new 2009 boats in
the top 5. Jean Breger collected his boat from the factory
the previous week, and showed blistering boat speed to finish
4th overall. He is pictured giving Ulysse a sip of champagne
on departure from Petticrows.
Also pictured is Jean Claude Danet discussing the fit out
of his new boat, Lady Jane, with Nicolas Abiven and Katie.
He collected the new boat in April and finished 5th overall.
