Katie back on board.

1 year on from winning the 2010 UK East coast championship we are pleased to report that Jorgen Schonherr, Tim Tavinor and Katie Cole have again won the event again in 2011.

The event, held at the RCYC, was sailed in a range of wind conditions. Visitors from as far away as Australia (Gordon Ingate) enjoying the close and fierce racing.

This is a particularly pleasing result because as many friends of the Dragon will realise that in the interim year Katie was diagnosed to be suffering from leukaemia.
She began her treatment during July last year and at Easter 2011 was pleased to be given the all clear.

The gruelling regime left Katie weak and tired, however Tim and Jorgen made a plan to get Katie back on the water to sail with them and defend the title.
In the testing conditions it was great to see Katie full of smiles and delighted that her life is returning to normality.

I am sure all her Dragon friends will be pleased to see her on the circuit soon.
