Ski Voile 2014
One of the first tests for the International Dragon fleet
this year was held at Juan les Pins, February 23rd to 26th
.. The annual Ski Voile.
The Ski part was cancelled due to recent excess rain had caused
a landslide on the road to the resort. So that left everyone
to concentrate on the sailing.
A fleet of 28 were greeted with a full range of wind strengths
and directions that enabled 7 excellent races to be held over
the four days of racing.
The Danish team of Jens Christensen, Kim Andersen and Anders
Bagger won the event needing to control Lawrie Smith ( GBR
785) and Jean Sebastian Ponce ( sailing ITA 56 ) during the
final race to be sure of the victory.
The Danish team had flown in to the event to borrow Tim’s
new boat “ Trigger” as a test to evaluate some
new systems before deciding on their new layout.
Top of the list to test was the option of cockpit spinnaker
launching; becoming a popular option due to the windward/leeward
championship courses. This will definitely be on Jen’s
Straight from the factory and winning the Championship…
“ Trigger” continued Petticrows policy of boats
being supplied fully ready to race straight from the workshop.
